Nettle Bay

Nettle Bay, in French called “Baie Nettlé”, is a long, flat, usually calm beach located between the Simpson Bay lagoon and the Caribbean Sea, and half way between the prestigious Terres Basses villa community and the town of Marigot.
It is only some 25 year ago that the construction of “La Belle Créole Hotel” kicked off the development of the bay. Today, the hotel has closed down, but the Bay has changed into a pretty active and busy area, with hotels and resorts (both lagoon-side and sea-side), apartment buildings, shops and restaurants.
The Nettle Bay area has also some watersports and activities to offer, such as jetski or boat charters for day excursions and cruising. The place to sign up is at the “Flamboyant” on Nettle Bay, the former hotel resort which is nowadays converted into privately owned apartments and studios.
A new hot spot on Nettle Bay Beach, at footsteps from Nettle Bay Beach Club is “Le Sand” beach and restaurant really nice place with great food.the builded a pier, we come bring you there with our boat charters for lunch or drink easy .
The view on Nettle Bay is splendid: you see the neigbhoring island of Anguilla, Marigot Bay and its harbor to the north, and the ruins of La Belle Creole along the Pointe du Bluff to the south.
The entrance to Nettle Bay Beach is somewhat hidden behind hotels, residences and the strip mall of Nettle Bay. Best is to follow the signs for Ma Ti Beach, Layla’s Beach Bar or newly opened “Le Sand & Dreams “. They provide beach access, parking and beach & bar facilities.
